Caring for Your Towels & Linens

Authentic Egyptian cotton is unique; the extra-long fibres are naturally resilient, designed to grow softer, plusher and more absorbent with continuous use. By following these simple care steps, you protect the beautiful lustre and exceptional integrity for years to come.

  •       The Initial Wash: Always wash your towels/linens separately before their first use. This unlocks the fibres, removing any weaving residue and instantly enhancing natural softness and absorbency.
  •        Machine Wash: Machine wash on a warm, gentle cycle (30–40∘C). We highly recommend using a mild, gentle liquid detergent. Avoid heavy, enzyme-based detergents that can strip the natural fibres.
  •         Keep It Pure: Do not use bleach or fabric softeners. Fabric softeners coat the pure cotton yarns in a synthetic layer, which damages the fibres and significantly reduces their natural absorbency.
  •         Drying to Perfection: Line drying in a gentle breeze is ideal for the material. If using a tumble dryer, select a warm setting on low heat to keep the pile fluffy and light.
  •         Preserve the Texture: Do not iron and do not dry clean. High iron heat can flatten the loops, damaging the fibres and reducing the signature boutique-hotel feeling.

Understanding GSM: The Weight of True Luxury

When selecting premium linens, you will often see the term GSM - which stands for Grams per Square Metre. Simply put, it measures the density, weight and plushness of the weave.

Lower GSM (300–400 thread count): Lighter, thinner, and engineered to dry quickly.

Higher GSM (600+ thread count): Denser, weightier and highly absorbent—the gold standard for elite boutique hotels. The Bath Mat is 900 GSM for extra durability, ultra-soft comfort, quick-drying and non-slip safety.
